Virtual Assistant Certification

Obtaining a Virtual Assistant Certication is not required to land a client or start a Virtual Assistant Business. It does however look good in your bio and adds weight to your skills. Below you'll find information about different virtual assistant certifications available including any requirements and cost associated with each certification.

International Virtual Assistants Association Certified Virtual Assistant (CVA)
$150 US Funds

$120 if you have taken the Ethics Checks exam

Must pass Ethics Check and Digital Literacy exam to be considered for the CVA certification. Must be a IVAA member and in good standing for 90 days prior to applying to take the test.
Certified Real Estate Support Specialist (CRESS) Member: $45
Non-member: $70
No IVAA membership required. Open to all VAs
Ethics Check Member: $45
Non-member: $70
No IVAA membership required. Open to all VAs
VACertification.com Master Virtual Assistant (MVA)
$75 Application fee (US funds) No test required. Certification is based on verifiable experience and the Virtual Assistant certification point system.
Professional Virtual Assistant (PVA) $75 Application fee (US funds) No test required. Certification based on verifiable experience, references, training, and education.
Canadian Virtual Assistant Connection Certified Canadian Virtual Assistant (CCVA) Certification is open to members only

$40 + GST - For Full Members

$60 + GST - For Partial Members

  • Must be based in Canada and must offer Administrative
    duties.
  • Must answer some basic industry related questions and provide information on your background, education, and experience. Also you must write a short essay. Must be a member.
A Clayton's Secretary Accredited Secretaries Online (ASO)
certification
$75 (AUD) for 3 year period

Memberships:

For those residing in
Australia cost is $99.00 for the first 6 months (tryout) or $165.00 annually.  For those outside of Australia cost is $65.00 for 12 months. 

One time joining fee of $27.50

Accreditation depends on training, experience, professional development, and active participation in the Virtual Assistant industry.
